MONGOLIAN TSAGAAN SAR (WHITE MOON) CELEBRATION
The General Secretary of IIS Murat řahin and his family visited the Mongolian Ambassador to Ankara His Excellency Ochir Ochircav in his residence in the Embassy in order to celebrate his Tsagaan Sar (White Moon) holiday.
February is the first month of the year in the lunar calendar used in the Buddhist world. In Mongolia, the traditional New Year is celebrated under the name Tsagaan Sar (White Moon). Though it does not always coincide with the date of the Chinese New Year, it is always celebrated in February.
Based on the Mongolian calendar, Tsagaan Sar (White Moon), which is the most important religious holiday of Mongolia celebrated as the beginning of the new year and of the spring, was celebrated on 22 February this year. In the special Tsagaan Sar celebration held in the Embassy Residence, the Ambassador His Excellency Ochircav received the IIS General Secretary Murat řahin and his family, and saw them off in person till the gate of the building at the end of the celebration.
