Foreign Mothers of the Year Selected



A concert for the benefit of the autistic and disabled children attending Ankara Modern Education and Practice School with the support of the International Interaction Society, the Ukranian Embassy, the Azerbaijani Embassy and Bilkent University

During the concert event, The Ukranian AMBassadress Luibov Korsunska and Azerbaijani AMBassadress Lale Bagirova were given the “Foreign Mothers of the Year” awards due to their contributions to the Project for Supporting Autistic Children. All income of the concert given by Turkish Ofreon ChaMBer Chorus conducted by Elnara Kerimova will be spent for the renewal and rearrangement of the Ankara Modern Education and Practice School.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ankara Faik Bagirova, Ukranian Ambassador to Ankara Sergiy Korsunskyi and the Canadian, Chinese, Japanese and Australian Ambassadors to Ankara attended the concert and the ceremony. As well as the ambassadors, the General Director of Family and Society Services Ömer Bozoğlu, representing the Minister of Family and Social Policies Fatma Şahin; the Deputy of Izmir Rifat Sait and Deputy of Istanbul Hakan Şükür; bureaucrats and businesspeople also attended the event,in which the foreign mother of the year was selected the fifth time by the International Interaction Society.

The opening speech was delivered by Mesut Gümüşdoğrayan, the President of the International Interaction Society, the aMBassadresses of the two countries were presented the “Foreign Mothers of the Year” award for their valuable contributions to the education of children needing special education. And two disabled children presented flower bouquets to the laureates.

In the award ceremony, which was held as the first part of the event before the concert, the General Director of Family and Society Services Ömer Bozoğlu presented the Azerbaijani AMBassadress Lale Bagirova her award. AMBassadress Lale Bagirova said in her speech: “There is something all of us should do. We should touch to the souls of these children. This award is so meaningful for me. It is our task as humans to improve and add color to the lives of these children”.

Following the award ceremony, Orfeon ChaMBer Choir conducted by Elnera Kerimova delivered the concert named “Greeting the New Year”. In the concert, folk songs from Turkey, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Sweden, Argentina, Mexico and Italy were performed.

Following the concert, which was applauded heartily by the audience, the Azerbaijani Ambassador and The Rector of Bilkent University Abdullah Atalar were presented plaques of appreciation and the Ukranian Ambassador presented the conductor Kerimova a plaque of appreciation.
